Layout Inspection (Aerospace)

We have partnered with a leading Aerospace Manufacturer in Bloomfield who is looking to bring on a Layout Inspector.
Pay range of $30-35/hour with a schedule of 8am – 5pm Mon-Fri
We are seeking a skilled Layout Inspector with expertise in blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure our aerospace parts meet strict engineering and quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining compliance with industry regulations and ensuring the reliability of our products.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of aerospace components and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Interpret complex blueprints and apply GD&T principles to evaluate tolerances and dimensions
- Operate precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs)
- Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports for engineering and production teams
- Identify and report nonconformities, assisting in root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain calibration and accuracy of inspection equipment
- Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives in quality assurance
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing technology, aerospace engineering, or quality assurance preferred
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in aerospace inspection, quality control, or precision manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with GD&T interpretation and blueprint reading
- Familiarity with AS9100/ISO quality standards (preferred)
- Experience with CMM operation/programming (preferred)
