Payroll Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with a strong background in high-volume, multi-state payroll processing to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise gained in a nonprofit environment and possess a proven ability to manage complex payroll operations across multiple entities and locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume, multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule for multiple sites and legal entities.
- Perform comprehensive payroll audits to ensure compliance, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Administer employee wages, garnishments, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Manage quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute payroll reports for leadership, finance, and regulatory purposes.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and tax-related issues.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance teams to maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
- Support payroll system maintenance, enhancements, and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a nonprofit organization environment.
- Extensive experience processing high-volume, multi-state payroll.
- Strong payroll auditing and reconciliation expertise.
- Deep knowledge of wage administration, garnishments, deductions, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing quarterly and annual payroll tax filings and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate and interpret payroll reports.
- Experience processing payroll across multiple locations, business units, or legal entities.
- Advanced proficiency with Paylocity, including payroll processing, reporting, and system administration functions.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
