Hiring for a Registered Nurse in Family Med for a healthcare clinic in Dorchester, MA.

Covering a leave of absence – anticipating anywhere from 2-4 months+
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm
Pay: $50-55/hr (based on experience)
At least 6 months of ambulatory care experience as an RN.
Summary:
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse works collaboratively as a member of the patient care team to provide consistent, high quality, evidence-based care to patients within the health center. The RN is accountable to perform in accordance with the standards set by the American Nurses Association, Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing, and the health center’s policies and procedures.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families within the health center. The RN performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities. These include but are not limited to:
- Directs the practice of medical assistants and LPNs.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates ability to work as a team member; participates in orienting peers.
- Reviews and communicates test results per protocol.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Performs patient triage.
- Provides patient education.
- Administers medication, immunizations and treatments as ordered.
- Performs charge nurse responsibilities.
- Assists with management of urgent and emergent patient care situations.
- Assists with or performs procedures.
- Manages communication from internal and external sources.
- Attends nursing and organizational meetings and participates in QI initiatives.
- Provides safe, ethical, evidence based and culturally competent care.
- Floats to other nursing departments as need arises.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Valid MA RN License
- Current CPR Certification
- Ambulatory Care experience preferred
- Bilingual Candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
- Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
