Buyer / Planner

We are seeking a Buyer / Planner to manage purchasing, inventory planning, and material availability in support of manufacturing operations. This person will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials arrive on time, inventory levels are maintained, and production schedules stay on track.
Responsibilities

• Purchase materials from domestic and international suppliers.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders.
• Monitor inventory levels, production schedules, and material requirements.
• Expedite or reschedule orders to prevent material shortages and production delays.
• Track supplier lead times, pricing, order status, and delivery performance.
• Request supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Identify and qualify new and backup suppliers.
• Create and maintain production job orders within the ERP/planning system.
• Communicate material shortages, delays, and schedule changes to production and other departments.
• Resolve supplier, pricing, quality, receiving, invoice, and delivery issues.
• Help improve inventory levels, supplier performance, purchasing costs, and overall supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Materials Management, or a related field OR 1+ years of relevant purchasing, planning, inventory, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• ERP, MRP, or advanced planning system experience preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
