Title:Fortinet Implementation Specialist / Documentation Engineer
Hours: 40hrs/wk must be local but will have remote flexibility
Duration: 2-3 months for initial implementation 1 year contract
Pay: $50-$60/hr
Start Date: October 5th
Overview:
Seeking a Fortinet Implementation Specialist / Documentation Engineer to support a multi-site Fortinet deployment across Massachusetts. This role will focus on implementation support, configuration documentation, deployment tracking, testing, and knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and deployment of Fortinet network and security solutions
- Assist with FortiGate configuration, testing, and onsite deployment activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of firewall and network configurations
- Document IP addressing, VLANs, firewall policies, VPNs, and network diagrams
- Track device deployments, configurations, changes, and cutover activities
- Assist with pre-deployment and post-deployment testing
- Work closely with Senior Fortinet Engineers and client IT teams
- Create installation guides, configuration documentation, and troubleshooting procedures
- Assist with knowledge transfer and training for the client’s IT staff
- Ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date throughout the deployment
Required Skills:
- 2+ years of experience supporting network or security implementations
- Experience working with Fortinet/FortiGate
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and VPNs
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Experience creating network diagrams and configuration documentation
- Ability to understand and document firewall/network configurations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working onsite in Massachusetts
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical teams
Preferred Certifications:
- Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP)
- Fortinet NSE 4
- Cisco CCNA or similar networking certification
Ideal Candidate:
A technically strong, detail-oriented network professional who understands Fortinet environments and can keep a complex multi-site deployment organized, properly documented, tested, and ready for handoff to the client’s IT team.
