Hiring for a Registered Nurse in Women’s Health. 

Temporary role for a maternity leave coverage until at least January (could go longer!)

Women’s Health RN Responsibilities:

RN Appointments:

• Urine and STD testing
• Prenatal Orientation and other education visits during the pregnancy
• Injection/Vaccine Visits

Provider Support task

• Patient calls and in-baskets 
• FMLA forms
• Medications for visits

Triage Calls

• Through in-baskets

Pay: $40 – 46/hr
Schedule: Mon – Fri —- 8:30a – 5:00p

Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to individuals and families within a community healthcare setting. The RN works collaboratively with providers and the healthcare team to assess patient needs, coordinate care, provide education, and promote positive health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, monitor health status, and identify changes requiring intervention or provider follow-up.
• Administer medications, treatments, injections, and other nursing interventions in accordance with established protocols.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, chronic disease management, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, APRNs, medical assistants, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Document patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with care coordination, follow-up, referrals, and closing gaps in preventive and chronic healthcare.
• Provide telephone/triage support and respond appropriately to patient questions and clinical concerns.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, nursing standards, infection-control procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Previous clinical nursing experience preferred; experience in primary care, community health, ambulatory care, pediatrics, women’s health, or other outpatient settings is a plus.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, and patient-education skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Commitment to providing culturally responsive, compassionate care to diverse and underserved patient populations.
