Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Production Team Lead to oversee daily manufacturing operations and provide leadership to production employees. This position is responsible for coordinating workflow, supporting team members, monitoring production performance, and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.

The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing experience along with experience serving as a team lead, senior operator, or supervisor in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.

• Assign work, balance labor, and ensure appropriate production coverage.

• Monitor production output, downtime, scrap, and overall efficiency.

• Ensure employees follow standard work instructions, SOPs, and production schedules.

• Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to production team members.

• Train new employees and cross-train existing team members.

• Monitor attendance, performance, and adherence to workplace expectations.

• Enforce safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.

• Support safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations as needed.

• Ensure finished products meet established quality standards.

• Assist with identifying root causes of production or quality issues and implementing corrective actions.

• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

• Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.

• Support process improvements, equipment optimization, and waste-reduction efforts.

• Communicate production goals, priorities, issues, and shift handoffs.

• Escalate equipment problems, material shortages, and staffing concerns as necessary.

• Maintain accurate production, downtime, and labor records using ERP/MES systems.

• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Supply Chain teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 3+ years of manufacturing or production experience.

• 1–3 years of experience in a team lead, senior operator, or supervisory capacity.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.

• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and/or ERP/MES systems.

• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.

• Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as ISO, FDA, or GMP.

• Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
