Certified Medical Assistant

Pay: $27-31/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM

Requirements: 

• 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience
• National MA Certification/Registration
• Must have phlebotomy experience
• Must have Epic experience – practice also utilizes Athena for admin duties, but can train on Athena

Responsibilities:

• Welcoming, rooming, and preparing patients for physician visits
• Obtaining and accurately documenting vital signs and clinical information, including manual blood pressure
• Providing attentive, polished, and timely communication with patients over Outlook email
• Managing specialty referrals and prior authorizations from initiation through completion
• Performing phlebotomy and processing laboratory specimens
• Assisting physicians with in-office procedures as needed
• Coordinating outside records, laboratory results, imaging, and other clinical information
• Supporting prescription, referral, and clinical administrative workflows within the scope of the CMA role
• Maintaining accurate and organized patient charts and task lists, in Epic and in physical charts
• Tracking open clinical items and ensuring appropriate follow-through
• Proactively communicating outstanding tasks, concerns, or barriers to the appropriate team member
• Maintaining organized, clean, and patient-ready clinical spaces
• Supporting teammates and contributing to the day-to-day needs of a small practice
• Identifying opportunities to improve workflows, patient service, and team efficiency
