Staff Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who is eager to learn, take ownership of their work, and grow within a dynamic hospitality environment.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in accounting principles, and an interest in developing their technical skills. While prior hospitality or public accounting experience is a plus, we welcome candidates from a variety of industries who bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general ledger activities.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other day-to-day accounting functions as needed.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and the preparation of supporting documentation.
• Help maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Utilize Excel and accounting software to organize, analyze, and validate financial data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen reporting accuracy.
• Take on additional responsibilities and projects as skills develop.

Qualifications

• Some accounting experience through an internship, entry-level position, public accounting, or a related role is preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with formulas, organize data, and perform basic reconciliations.
• Exposure to accounting systems, financial software, or ERP platforms is preferred.
• Experience with hospitality or public accounting is a plus; candidates from other industries are encouraged to apply.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
