Accounts Payable Manager

Boston, MA | Hybrid (Approximately 6 Days Onsite Monthly)
$100,000–$115,000 Base Salary + 10% Bonus

About the Opportunity

Complete Staffing Solutions has partnered with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join its expanding finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly acquisitive, multi-entity business experiencing significant growth. With an aggressive expansion strategy and substantial long-term goals, the organization is investing in its accounting infrastructure, technology, and leadership team to support its next phase of development.

The Accounts Payable Manager will take ownership of a high-volume AP function, lead an established offshore team, and work closely with the Controller to improve processes, streamline systems, and support the integration of newly acquired businesses.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on AP leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building efficient processes, and brings a collaborative, team-first approach to their work.

Key Responsibilities

•
Oversee daily accounts payable operations across a growing portfolio of business entities, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing and vendor payments.

•
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 6–7 offshore AP professionals.

•
Manage a high-volume AP environment, with invoice activity that can exceed 1,000 transactions per week during peak periods.

•
Oversee invoice approvals, payment processing, vendor reconciliations, expense reporting, and resolution of discrepancies.

•
Partner with the Controller and finance leadership to improve AP workflows, internal controls, and reporting.

•
Support the implementation, integration, and optimization of accounting systems and AP automation tools.

•
Play an active role in onboarding newly acquired businesses, standardizing processes, and integrating their AP operations.

•
Monitor key AP performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

•
Maintain strong relationships with vendors, internal stakeholders, and operational leadership.

•
Support month-end close, cash flow planning, and other accounting initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

•
5+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable, including prior experience at the AP Manager level.

•
Dedicated accounts payable management background; candidates should have led a standalone AP function rather than primarily holding a blended AP/AR, payroll, or general accounting role.

•
Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume AP operation processing at least 1,000 invoices per month.

•
Experience directly managing, training, and developing an AP team.

•
Strong understanding of the full accounts payable cycle, internal controls, vendor management, and payment processes.

•
Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-entity or similarly complex business environment.

•
Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting and financial systems.

•
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

•
A collaborative, approachable leadership style with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and remain involved in day-to-day operations.

•
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

•
Experience with Bill.com and/or Ramp.

•
Previous involvement in accounting system implementations, integrations, or AP automation initiatives.

•
Experience managing offshore or geographically distributed accounting teams.

•
Background supporting acquisitions or integrating newly acquired businesses.

•
Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth organization.
